Ben Lomond High School
Logan High School
Grizzlies 17, Scots 0 (3)
It was a successful Senior Day for Logan.Makayla Dahl â the lone senior â was able to get in the game for an inning. She has been working to come back from a knee injury. Dahl picked up a single in her lone at-bat and played first base for a inning in the lop-sided Grizzly win.âIt was good for Makayla,â Logan coach Kim Laing said. âSheâs had a rough year.â
The Grizzlies (8-12-1, 5-5) actually trailed early, but quickly made winless Ben Lomond (0-12, 0-9) pay for scoring the first run of the game. Logan plated 10 runs in the bottom of the first and ended the game after two-and-a-half frames.
âWe went out and took care of business and got it done in three,â Laing said. â… It was a good team effort. Everyone did their part.â
Nya Laing got the win in the circle, striking out seven, walking two and allowing just one hit. The Grizzly pitcher also led the team at the plate, going 3 for 3 with a double, a triple and four RBIs. Saige Hansen added two hits to the 10 Logan had.
This completed the region season for the Grizzlies, who will play two non-league games next week in preparation for the state tournament that begins next Saturday.
