Game Recap
Flyers 55, Grizzlies 53
With a win against Sky View and close losses to Preston, Ridgeline and Juan Diego, Logan (12-12) showed how it was a forced to be reckoned with this season.Against Dixie (21-2) Friday night on the road, that statement was made certain. The Grizzlies took the defending 3A state champions to the buzzer, thanks in large part to good play from Jared Bagley and Cody Brimhall, among others. Bagley had a team-high 15 points for the Grizzlies, while Brimhall was close behind with 13 points of his own.
However, as Logan has experienced so many times this season, its effort fell just shy of a monumental victory.
A pair of last-second free throws by Dixie sunk the Grizzliesâ chance to move into the 3A quarterfinals and play in front of a home crowd at the Spectrum.
âWeâre not the type of program that makes excuses,â LHS head coach Logan Brown said. âWe didnât do enough. Credit to the players. We gave ourselves a chance late in the fourth quarter, but we fell short and thatâs that.â
Anthony McDade finished with seven points, while Cooper Ward and Trey Davis added six apiece.
