Logan High School
Stansbury High School
Being a big underdog to region frontrunner Stansbury didnât seem to bother Logan in the early going.
The Grizzlies (1-7, 1-4) scored first and held a lead through most of the first quarter thanks to a field goal by Jonny Guadarrama. However, the host Stallions (7-1, 5-0) jumped on the back of their quarterback Mitchell McIntyre and rode him to victory.
McIntyre had his hand in all six of Stansburyâs TDs. He rushed for four and passed for two.
âWe missed assignments and missed tackles and couldnât get off the field on third down,â Logan head coach Jayson Anderson told radio station 610 KVNU AM. âItâs just the little things that we need to do.â
Kaden Jones caught a long pass from Jonny Parkinson to set up Loganâs lone TD. Robbie Ballam scored from two yards out midway through the fourth. However, the Stallions answered with a 44-yard TD run by McIntyre.
âWe still have a chance to make the playoffs, mathematically,â Anderson said. âWe need to win the next two weeks. We have a lot to play for. Weâve just got to get better.â
