Logan Grizzlies Varsity drops 11-0 game to Syracuse (UT)
Logan Grizzlies Varsity fell 11-0 to Syracuse at Ivin’s Park on Saturday.
Ashlee Schriever recorded the win for Syracuse . She tossed 4 2/3 innings of shutout ball. Schriever struck out four, walked none and gave up three hits.
Syracuse was sparked by Kylie Derrick and Mindi Zaugg, who teamed up for four hits and two RBIs.
Nya Laing was the game’s losing pitcher. She lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
Syracuse went up for good in the first, scoring two runs on an RBI double by Derrick.
Syracuse built upon its lead with six runs in the fourth. A clutch error scored Jentry Skidmore to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up by Lauren Andreasen’s single, scoring Kesli Curtis and Kemri Curtis.
Makayla Dahl, Nya Laing and Merissa Hedin, recorded the three hits. In the top of the fourth the Grizzlies tried to make some noise. Dahl got on base with an infield hit that she beat out at first. Molli Balling sac bunt moved her over to second. On a hit back to the pitcher Dahl moved to third, but a fly ball out ended the only threat by the Grizzlies.
